What to expect from your IVF doctor?

What is that young couples who have been unable to conceive despite having regular, unprotected sex for a year or more resort to?  Infertility treatments in Delhi such as In Vitro Fertilization? However, IVF, for most couples, can be burdensome and challenging, with the emotional and financial baggage that comes along with it.

Hence, finding an affordable and a successful doctor becomes very important for any couple.  Knowing well that the successful outcome of IVF entirely depends on the doctor, couples tend to have a lot of expectations from the doctor.

The expectation with regard to treatment plan which is personalized for them by the doctor chosen by them is quite common among the couples undergoing IVF. Patients, usually, wish to talk to the doctor in order to figure out the development and progress in their treatment.

Apart from the above, it is also very common for the patients to expect the doctors to answer their queries and doubts with regard to the treatment and the changes in the medication prescribed the doctor.

However, in most cases, the IVF doctors are not easily reachable, thereby exasperating the patients. In case of non-availability of the doctors, the patients are often coerced by the circumstances and situation to direct their queries and doubts to the nurses, assistants and other staff who do not seem to possess as much knowledge as the doctor on the issue in question.

With no one to answer their queries with regard to the change in the protocol or medication by the doctor, the patients are often left frustrated, wondering the reason behind such changes.

As IVF comprises of several processes, which are looked after and carried out by several people on the instructions of a doctor, it is normal for each of these person to not know of the process carried out by the other. That apart, it can be very arduous for the patient to bond with a new doctor who is on duty, every other day.

It is in these circumstances that patients feel the need for a personalized treatment wherein all the processes are carried out by their doctor and all of their doubts and queries, answered by him, thereby guiding them to handle the burden of IVF.

From the above, it becomes clear that the patients undergoing IVF often tend to have symptoms of depression and anxiety, and are thus, extremely emotional. In these circumstances, they require proper care and attention by their doctor.

While this may not be the case in most of the hospitals, a good IVF clinic in Delhi will ensure the availability of a personal doctor to take care of their patients throughout their treatment.
