Mrs. Martha Paulos from Ethiopia got the successful deep brain stimulation therapy in Chennai with Dheeraj Bojwani Consultants, a leading medical travel partner assisting the global patients seeking affordable cost medical treatments across India. Her Mr. Solomon shares us about the story of their medical trip to Chennai, India.
Hi, my name is Mr. Solomon Paulos and I am from Ethiopia. We traveled to India for the deep brain stimulation therapy in Chennai for my wife Martha through the assistance from Dheeraj Bojwani Consultants. After she was being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, we saw life slide downhill. Parkinson’s is a progressive disease wherein the early symptoms can be mild and can get worse over time. With the progression of the Parkinson, her falls, tremors and other symptoms started to get more serious to the extent that she was forced to leave her job. The medications weren’t helping her much and eventually she became dependent on others for nearly everything. Martha says, “I couldn’t function properly, I couldn’t walk without help. I couldn’t do other activities for a year. It was always my husband my children who helped me to do anything or even to take me anywhere I needed to go.”
Considering no improvements in her health, we decided to travel abroad in India for deep brain stimulation after one of my friends suggested it. We started searching for more information on the successful deep brain stimulation therapy in India and came across Dheeraj Bojwani Consultants. We contacted the group by sending them our query and within a couple of days received a response from one of the executives asking us to send my wife’s reports so that their panel of medical experts could provide medical opinions as per her medical case. The executive was very friendly and helped us clear all our doubts and worries about the therapy.
We also got to talk with the doctor who explained us everything about the deep brain stimulation therapy that changes her life. He explained us about that though the cause of Parkinson’s is unknown and there is no cure but medications and certain lifestyle changes allow many patients to manage their symptoms and lead normal life. Convinced with it and considering the cost effective treatment with quality healthcare services and facilities at the hospital in Chennai having highly skilled and experienced doctors, we gave them our confirmation to travel to Chennai, India for Martha’s treatment. The group helped us with arrangements for medical trip to India.
At the international airport in Chennai, an official welcomed us and escorted us to the hotel. The next day we were escorted to the hospital where we met the doctor who again explained us about the procedure. According to the doctor my wife shook so violently that she has difficulty with even writing her name and walking was difficult to due to her stiffness and slowness and since the medications were unable to control the symptoms so she needed DBS therapy to help her get back the quality of life. The doctor also explained about the procedure in detail which cleared all our anxieties and worries. Her surgery went well and according to the doctor she has successful deep brain stimulation therapy in Chennai. Her recovery was smoother and doing much better than before.
I am thankful to the Almighty, doctor and nurses at the hospital in Chennai and the team of Dheeraj Bojwani Consultants for their constant support and care throughout this entire journey.
Mr. Solomon Paulos,
