Individual from Canada Extends Appreciation to Dheeraj Bojwani Consultants staff for Gamma Knife Radio surgery in India

Mrs. Alyssa Mitchell from Canada has had gamma knife radiation in India with assistance from Dheeraj Bojwani Consultants. She writes extending her gratitude for the immense support and care she received during her treatment in India.

Hello, my name is Mrs. Alyssa Mitchell and I am from Canada. I came to India for undergoing gamma knife radiosurgery since the cost of the procedure was quite less as compared to the cost of the treatment in the US. Few weeks ago I thought that the swelling behind my left eye might be something suspicious and so I decided to schedule an appointment with an ophthalmologist at the clinic near my home. A CT scan revealed a large mass and three more tumors. According to my doctor, they all were benign meningiomas behind my eyes. I didn’t have any symptoms, no headaches, no seizures or anything; it was just that my eye was bulging out. The doctor recommended me to undergo the surgery; however I decided to get a second opinion.

One of my friends then suggested me about Dheeraj Bojwani Consultants in India through which is had planned her medical trip to India. After knowing about her experience, I decided to contact this medical value provider in India. The executive on the phone asked me to send my medical reports so that it could be studied by their panel of medical experts who will then provide their treatment opinion. Within a week I received few medical opinions from the doctors. After careful consideration I gave them my confirmation to undergo gamma knife radiosurgery in India. My husband and my sister accompanied me for gamma knife radiosurgery in India.

We received a warm welcome at the airport and an official escorted to the hotel from where we were lead to the hospital. We met the doctor who recommended undergoing gamma knife radiosurgery and explained us about what the treatment and what to expect before, during and after the treatment. According to my doctor they could treat some of the larger areas much safely and still deliver a relatively high dose to control the tumor at its best. The goal was to stop the things in their tracks and hopefully get some shrinkage back around 95% of change to get it better over a period of time. I believe it is really important to ask our questions to the doctor so that if there is progress in the field then it is the perfect opportunity to take advantage of the emerging technology.

I had 30 sessions of radiations to eradicate additional tumors that weren’t resectable surgically. I have gone through a lot but I am so glad that the doctor had recommended undergoing the gamma knife, a tool allowing delivering focused radiation to a number of abnormalities or lesions in the brain. This procedure was no different than an MRI and maybe it was for 11-12 minutes and then it was completed.

If in case I ever do get anymore tumors or the ones that I have left start growing, I will just have the gamma knife. The doctors are great and I trust them. I would extend my gratitude to them for wonderful care. I am thankful to Dheeraj Bojwani Consultants for their constant support during the entire process. They have really helped a lot during my medical trip to India and now I don’t have to worry anymore. I would recommend them to anyone seeking low cost gamma knife radiosurgery in India.

Thanking You,

Mrs. Alyssa Mitchell,
