About Me
Dr. Rajan Bhonsle, M.D., is the Founder Director
of Heart To Heart Counselling Centre and Dean of
the Institute of Human Technology (India). He is
a senior Consultant in Sexual Medicine & Counsellor
from Mumbai, practicing for 21 years.
He is an Hon. Professor and
Head of the Department of Sexual Medicine at K.E.M.Hospital and Seth
G.S.Medical College Mumbai. The Department
of Sexual Medicine at the KEM Hospital, Mumbai,
is the only one of its kind in the country.
Dr.Bhonsle has been conferred with two of the
most prestigious citations in the field of sexology
(Sexual Medicine). He is the Diplomate of
the American Board of Sexology as well
as the American College of Sexologists. He is the FIRST one from India to be honored with
these two International titles of recognition together
in the field of Sexology.
Dr.Rajan Bhonsle passed his M.B.B.S. from Grant
Medical College, Mumbai in 1981. He stood FIRST
in the M.D. examination of Bombay University in
the year 1985.
He has authored four books on ‘Sex Education’.
His book “Samagra Kaamjeevan” is in
its eighth edition since its first release by the
Health & Education Ministers of Maharashtra.
In June 2007 DoctorNDTV released a Question-Answer
book on Sexuality. This book has been edited by
Dr.Bhonsle along with contributing to it.
Dr.Bhonsle started India’s FIRST full-fledged
‘Pre-Marriage Counselling Centre’ in
Mumbai in 1998.
He
has been giving lectures and conducting training programs
and workshops in various national and international
organizations, forums and institutes such as Tata
Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Bombay Hospital
Institute of Medical Sciences, Indian Medical Association,
Times Foundation (TOI Group), Government Law College
Mumbai, National Institute of Industrial Engineering
(NITIE), Rajiv Gandhi National Institute, Commonwealth
Youth Programme, BRPL Ltd (A group company of Indian
Oil), Lighthouse Foundation etc.
He has been conducting "Training programs for Sex
Educators" in English, Marathi and Hindi. He is the
first and the only one in India to conduct such intensive
training programs for the adult community (Teachers,
Social workers, Doctors, Parents etc) to train them
to become 'Sex Educators'. He has also been leading
various AIDS awareness campaigns for the youth in
India.
He has also been conducting various self-help workshops in Stress Management, Secrets of a Healthy Marriage, Teenage Enigma, Art of Parenting, Menopause Management, Art of Communication at the work place, Wisdom through Parables, Self-Help through Creative Writing, Coping with Exams and Results etc.
He
wrote a very popular Question-Answer column (Ask the
Doctor) for Bombay Times (Times of India) where he answered
more than 500 questions asked by readers on sexuality
and sexual relationships.
Presently
he is writing a regular Question-Answer columns - "Let's
Talk Sex" - for DNA, "Expert Speak" for What's Hot (Times
of India group publication) and "Sex Talk" for Maharashtra
Times. He has also been writing a regular column "Intimacy
Issues" for the popular magazine "New Woman" for several
years.

Dr.Bhonsle
is a Member of the 'Council of Sex Education & Parenthood
International' and is a Member of the 'Centre for Sexuality

Dr.Bhonsle
has appeared as an expert panelist on popular TV shows
on various TV channels such as NDTV, Star TV, Zee TV,
Aaj Tak, Times Now, Alfa TV, ETV, Mumbai Doordarshan,
Me Marathi etc.
He
has been writing articles & regular columns in leading
news papers, Internet sites and magazines such as Times
of India, DNA, Femina, New Woman, Complete Well-being,
Parenting, Debonair, and regional publications such
as Navbharat Times, Janasatta, Meri Saheli (Hindi),
Maharashtra Times, Loksatta, Lokmat, Lokprabha, Chitralekha,
Charchaughi, (Marathi) Janmabhoomi, Samkaleen (Gujarati),
etc. on subjects related to Human Sexuality, Relationships,
Parenting & Counselling.
