With an increasing number of knee replacement surgeries being performed in India, the demand for revision surgeries is also increasing.

Most common reasons for failure of knee replacement and need for revision are infection, instability and polyethylene wear.

Surgeons need to be aware of these causes and  be able to diagnose them accurately. Revision knee replacement is technically more demanding and the results depend on accurate diagnosis, accurate execution of the procedure and using the correct prosthesis.
